Located at 20 N. Main Street, Reedsville, PA 17084, (717) 667-6084. www.reedsvilleseafood.com Wednesday-Saturday (at least at the time of this posting) they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. They drive a refrigerated/freezer truck to Maryland to ensure their fish is as fresh as possible so they do not have to rely on other sources and run the risk of time and temperature abuse with the products they sell. I have mostly just purchased haddock and salmon from them but they offer much more and I have never been disappointed with the taste/quality of the fish. They also offer catering services and have sandwiches, pastries, side dishes available for sale. The other day I stopped by and tried the orange blossom french toast. The price was $7.00 for three pieces of french toast, with a local sausage (which I typically don’t like sausage but it was good), and home fries that were cooked with green peppers and red onion. I would again order this dish. I forgot to take a photo of the outside, but next time I am in the area I will take one so I can post it as well.

Peace Valley Lavender Farm http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/09/peace-valley-lavender-farm/ http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/09/peace-valley-lavender-farm/#comments Tue, 10 Nov 2009 00:51:10 +0000 Tracy http://blossomhollow.com/?p=167

Although it was a little late in the year to be able to enjoy the lavender field, it was still worth the trip to check out the quaint little store at the Peace Valley Lavender Farm. It is located at 802 New Galena Road, Doylestown, PA 18901. 215-249-8462. www.peacevalleylavender.com They develop their own products from shampoo and lip balm to sheet sprays and culinary blends. I purchased the Herbs de Provence culinary blend (since I like the Herbs de Provence salt blend that Tait Farm sells) as well as a recipe card for lavender cookies which includes a packet of lavender buds. I am a little bit leery about trying the recipe but if it is good I will develop a recipe that I can post for you to try as well.

Sawaii Restaurant in Red Hill, PA http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/09/sawaii-restaurant-in-red-hill-pa/ http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/09/sawaii-restaurant-in-red-hill-pa/#comments Tue, 10 Nov 2009 00:16:26 +0000 Tracy http://blossomhollow.com/?p=157 Sawaii is located in Montgomery County and I highly recommend eating at this Indian restaurant. The food is great! My friends and I just order several dishes then share the food. During my last trip we ordered the lamb chops and I have never had lamb so tender and flavorful. It was so good next time I might just order it for my meal.

The restaurant is located at 313 Main Street, Red Hill, PA 18076. 215-679-5000. Reservations are not required and I do want to mention that if you see that the parking lot is full you should stop anyway. They have a lot of banquets and even though it might look like they are too busy, the main restaurant usually has plenty of room. They serve the buffet for lunch and you order off the menu for dinner. Here are some photos from my last trip.

Lake Raystown http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/08/lake-raystown/ http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/08/lake-raystown/#comments Mon, 09 Nov 2009 02:36:33 +0000 Tracy http://blossomhollow.com/?p=138 I have just returned from an enjoyable afternoon trip to Lake Raystown, in Huntingdon County, PA. I never would have imagined that I would go there in November but the day could not have been better. The temperature was in the mid 60’s and it was just beautiful on the lake. There was very little traffic, mostly fishermen but I did see one jet ski and two individuals that were brave enough to water ski.
The boats that normally would be tied to the docks were out of the water so it made it seem deserted but I truly would go back this time of year. Sadly my friend was taking the boat to be winterized after our time on the lake, so if the weather is nice this coming weekend I will not be able to go back.

Clearwater, Florida http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/08/clearwater-florida/ http://blossomhollow.com/2009/11/08/clearwater-florida/#comments Mon, 09 Nov 2009 01:55:52 +0000 Tracy http://blossomhollow.com/?p=129 Back in May I had to travel to Clearwater, Florida for my friend’s wedding. The unfortunate part is that there was a front that was stuck over the Clearwater area the entire time I was there. I did get some pool time and beach time which was great but for the most part it was overcast and rained on and off each day.

If anyone is ever traveling in the area I want to highly recommend the Gulf Fish Spread that is available at Jimmy’s Fish House & Iguana Bar (521 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33767) I really think I could have eaten this amazing appetizer every night for my supper and I think I could eat some right now. I unfortunately do not have a photo of the restaurant or the appetizer to share with you.
